Dataspeed Inc. Has Formal Grand Opening In Rochester Hills, MI

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI, 09/28/2016 – Dataspeed Inc, a high-technology engineering firm specializing in mobile robotics and autonomous vehicles, had its successful formal grand opening on September 27, officially marking its entrance into the Rochester Hills business community.

It was a star-studded event, with local dignitaries including representatives from U.S. Senator Gary Peters’ office, U.S. Congressman dataspeed grand openingMike Bishop’s office; state-level officials including State Senator Marty Knollenberg and State Rep Mike Webber, along with others. These individuals and other attendees from the Southeastern Michigan business community received a first-hand experience of the future of mobility: rides in an autonomous test vehicle, and demonstrations of the capabilities of mobile collaborative robots.

CEO & President Paul Fleck, along with the entire engineering staff were present throughout the event to answer questions and discuss their work.

New to the Rochester Hills Community, Dataspeed is a small business with close ties to the area, including Oakland University. Many of Dataspeed’s employees and apprentices are current or former students at Oakland University’s School of Engineering and Computer Science.

“This was a big day for Dataspeed,” said Paul Fleck, CEO & President. “We’re very excited to open our doors here. We’re a true local success story: we create real, local jobs in high-technology, have many customers in the region, and source a large majority of our supply-chain from the rich manufacturing community in the Metro Detroit area.”

Among other accolades, Dataspeed has competed and placed well in the Amazon Picking Challenge for the past 2 years, as one of only 5 American teams: in Seattle, WA in 2015, and Leipzig, Germany for 2016. This is but one example of how Dataspeed is re-inventing how the world moves – both in terms of autonomous vehicles, as well as mobile robotics.
